1.2 Loading & Unloading by Volunteers
Loading & Unloading of Saplings :Generally Volunteer's -Teams handle all human efforts / works. But still a token amount of INR 0.50 per tree can be allocated.
1.3 Transport Costs through Complimentary Arrangements
Transport Cost of Sapling :Most of the Teams undertaking Voluntary Tree Plantation Programs are able to mobilize the transport. However a token amount of INR 1.00 per tree must be kept.
1.4 Extra Saplings due to Mortality
Extra Saplings due to Mortality :There is always 10-20 percent mortality during the procurement process therefor must account for it. Mostly Nurseries for Voluntary Tree Program Provide few Extra Saplings. (But keeping a token amount of INR 0.50 per tree is advised)
1.5 Soil Amendments like Gypsum/ LIme (Optional)
Soil Amendments - Gypsum (Only if Needed):If Gypsum/ LIme is recommended then it can be arranged on concessional rates like INR 2.00 to 3.00 (If not required then assign Zero Cost)
1.6 Soil Amendments by Pond Clay (Suggested )
Soil Amendments by Pond Clay (If Needed):In poor water holding capacity soils and public tree plantation programs where there is an element of efficiency gaps it is advised to apply Pond Clay. Per Tree it can have a concessional costs of INR 2.00 to 3.00.(If not required then assign Zero Cost)
1.7 Soil Amendment by River Sand (In exceptional situations only)
Soil Amendment by River Sand (In exceptional situations) :In very high clay content soils, adding River Sand helps to reduce damage to roots through intermittent drying and wetting in initial stages. Per Tree it can vary from INR 1.00 to 2.00. but If not required then assign Zero Cost.
1.8 Chemical Fertilizer (Recommended for Voluntary Plantation)
Chemical Fertilizer (Recommended for Voluntary Plantation) :In extremely poor and degraded lands and soils then small doze of Chemical Fertilizer in initial stages improves the early growth. Per Tree the concessional costs can vary from INR 2.00 to 3.00. (If not applied then assign Zero cost)
1.9 Manures /Composts (Very Important Input)
Manures / Composts (Very Important Input) :Well decomposed organic manure is very essential. Per Tree concessional costs can vary from INR 2.00 to 5.00.
1.10 Enriched Compost (For Added Advantage)
Enriched Compost (If Easily Available):If available then application of enriched compost improves the survival and growth in voluntary tree plantation programs. Per Tree concessional costs can vary from INR 3.00 to 5.00. (If not applied assign Zero Cost)
1.11 Natural Pest Control Inputs
Natural Pest Control Inputs :Generally ignored but very important as in most Arid and Semi Arid areas the soils are infested by pests and diseases. Per Tree the concessional costs vary from INR 2.00 to 3.00. If not applied assign Zero Cost)
1.12 Pesticides for Termite Control
Pesticides for Termite Control (Important Parameter):Problem of Arid / Semi Arid areas. Direct chemical control measures are required. Per Tree it cost can vary from INR 2.00 to 3.00. (If not applied then assign Zero cost)
1.13 Innovative Tree Watering Tools (Important Component)
Innovative Tree Watering Tools (Important Component):Due to hot and dry climate conditions the earthen pots / discarded plastic bottles can be placed along the plant to provide continuous watering. Per Tree it can vary from INR 2.00 to 3.00.
1.14 Mulching by Plastic Sheets (For Added Advantage)
Mulching by Plastic Sheets (For Added Advantage):In extremely dry and hot conditions and water scarce areas the Plastic Mulching Sheets are placed. Per Tree it can vary from INR 10.00 to 20.00. (Can be arranged through complimentary contributions)
1.15 Mulching by Recycled Plastic Clothe Felts. (Any of the Two Options)
Mulching by Recycled Plastic Clothe Felts. (Innovative Choice):This is a new innovation that allows air and water to pass through felt clothe and has very long life. Per Tree it can vary from INR 20.00 to 40.00. (If possible to raise funds then must provide, so no cost is budgeted here)
1.16 Mulching by Dry Leafy Material/s
Mulching by Dry Leafy Material/s (Local Solution):In most fo places even if mulching sheets are used the pit should be covered by dry leaves to protect it from heat stress. Per Tree cost - INR 2.00 to 3.00.
1.17 Hand Tools - Shovels, Buckets, Diggers etc
Hand Tools - Shovels, Buckets, Diggers etc :Most voluntary Tree Plantation programs shall arrange these requirements on complimentary basis. Still a token budget of INR 200 per site should be kept. Per tree INR 2.00 is allocated.
1.18 Watering Cans & Hose Pipes (Complimentary for Voluntary Programs)
Watering Cans & Hose Pipes (Complimentary for Voluntary Programs):Generally arranged on complimentary basis but a budget of INR 300.00 per site is required. For 100 tree project for each tree it works out to INR 2.00 per Tree

Land Preparation by Clearing and Removal of Vegetation. (Optional):Most of the sites are clean but if infested with weeds then volunteers are deployed. For 100 Trees Project about 300-500 Square Meter Land is covered. on Per Tree basis a token amount of INR 2.00 must be kept.
2.2 Land Preparation by Removal of Debris (If Needed)
Land Preparation by Removal of Debris (If Needed):Most of the sites may be clean or volunteers can be deployed. For 100 Trees Project a token amount of INR 1.00 must be kept. (If not paid separately then assign Zero cost)
2.3 Preparing the Potting mixture. by Volunteers.
Preparing the Potting mixture by Volunteers. :All inputs are mixed and kept ready at least a day or two earlier of plantation. A token amount of INR 1.00 per tree can be budgeted.
2.4 Pit Digging - by Human Efforts or Machine or both combined
Pit Digging - by Human Efforts or Machine or both combined :Depending on the type of land and soil Volunteers are deployed. a budget of INR 3.00 to 5.00 per pit/tree cost should be kept) (Normally very big size pits are not recommended)
2.5 Plant Transport - Shifting of Plant Sapling to Pit Site BY Volunteers
Plant Transport - Shifting of Plant Sapling to Pit Site BY Volunteers :To be done by volunteers. For per Tree a token amount can be kept from INR 0.50 to 1.00 per tree basis.
2.6 Planting /Transferring Tree Sapling to Soil / Pit
Planting /Transferring Tree Sapling to Soil / Pit:Skilled Supervision is needed. While the volunteers can help a budget of from INR 5.00 to 10.00 should be kept.
2.7 Pit / Water Basin Formation by Volunteers
Pit / Water Basin Formation by Volunteers :Water Basin Formation. Extremely important to hold water to be done by Volunteers. A token amount of INR 1.00 to 2.00 can be budgeted
2.8 Pre Watering Before Planting
Pre Watering Before Planting:Mostly hot / dry climate conditions so filling the pit with water day before planting is needed to improve the survival. For per Tree it can vary from INR 1.00 to 2.00. (Some Tank and Hose Pipe arrangements must be made)
2.9 Watering during Planting
Watering during Planting:Needs to fill all soil pores so that air movement is restricted. For per Tree it can vary from INR 1.00 to 2.00. (Low cost Regular watering arrangements are required. Human Operating Costs as Volunteers work need not be budgeted. But other operational costs must be covered in the budget.
2.10 Watering after Planting
Watering after Planting:Immediately post planting at least 2-3 watering should be included in the plantation task itself. For per Tree it can vary from INR 3.00 to 6.00. (Infrastructure as above is needed)

3.1 Watering from Own Source to be done by Volunteers.
Watering from Own Source to be done by Volunteers. :About 20-30 Waterings are required for establishment of a Tree. Proper infra structure is need. Operations costs of INR 10.00 Per plant for this entire duration must be budgeted.
3.2 Weeding Operations to be done by Manual / Weeding Machine by Volunteers
Weeding Operations to be done by Manual / Weeding Machine by Volunteers :In Volunteer based Tree Plantation Program it is not done. But must be taken up on regular basis. A token amount INR 3.00 to 5.00 per tree for 3 weeding can be allocated. Establishment
3.3 Regular Fertilizer and Manuring - Soil Applications
Regular Fertilizer and Manuring - Soil Applications :As per Expert advice at least 3 Manure Applications are to be made till establishment of Trees. For each application concessional costs of INR 2.00 so total INR 6.00 to 10.00 per tree needs to be budgeted.
3.4 Foliar Fertilizer Application
Foliar Fertilizer Application :Following the expert advice, 3-5 foliar fertilizer applications are to be made. Concessional costs can be INR 2.00 per Tree Total 6.00 per tree is to be budgeted
3.5 Pest Control-Soil Application
Pest Control -Soil Application:As per Expert advice, 2-3 Applications are required. The Concessional cost can be INR 2.00 and Total INR 6.00 is to be budgeted.
3.6 Pest Control - Foliar Application
Pest Control - Foliar Application:As per Expert advice 2-3 Applications are required. Concessional costs for each can be INR 1.00 total INR 3.00 is to be budgeted.
3.7 Intercultural Operation for Soil Loosening
Intercultural Operation for Soil Loosening :To be done by Volunteers. Token amount of INR 1.00 per application and in all 2-3 applications are required. So total INR 3.00 can be allocated
3.8 Trimming and Pruning by Volunteers
Trimming and Pruning by Volunteers :As per Expert advice about 2 times trimming and Pruning is required. Token amount of INR 1.00 per time and total INR 2.00 can be planned.
3.9 Replacement Planting
Replacement Planting (Must Include in all Projects):About 20 % tree saplings are required to be replaced during Post Planting care Period. Concessional Costs of INR 5.00 on per tree basis must be provided.
3.10 Repeat mulching by Dry Leaf
Repeat mulching by Dry Leaf by Volunteers :Regular repeat mulching by dry leaf is very good for tree growth. About INR 2.00 to 3.00 per Tree is to be budgeted
3.12 Extreme Weather Protection - Cold Wave
Extreme Weather Protection - Cold Wave :Advance watering and grass protection is required. Token amount of INR 1.00 per tree in first year is required.
3.13 Extreme Weather Protection - Hail Storm
Extreme Weather Protection - Hail Storm:Vegetative canopy cover is required. Can cost up INR 3.00 per plant towards materials in first year. The labor work can be done by Volunteers.
3.14 Extreme Weather Protection - Heat Wave
Extreme Weather Protection - Heat Wave :Frequent watering, mulching and grass protection is required. A token amount of INR 3.00 per tree in first year must be kept for safe side.
