How far and how well-connected is my farm. Agriculture Resource Endowment Index 1/10

My farm is almost part of the gaon, less than 1 km away. People can just walk in. Labour shows up on time, and buyers also visit directly. It feels fully connected.

My farm is about 2–3 km away. A quick cycle or bike ride gets us there. Yes, transport costs are a little higher, but overall, work happens smoothly.

My farm is around 3–5 km away. Going to mandi or bringing inputs feels like a half-day task sometimes. Labour also asks for more wages because of travel.

We are on a proper pakka road, connected to the highway. Any season, rain or shine, the tractor, tempo, or even trucks reach us. Inputs come on time, produce goes out fresh, and even government vehicles or buyers visit without hesitation.

The farm is linked by a decent village road. It is not a highway, but still good enough for tractors, bikes, and tempos most of the year. During heavy rains there are some delays, but otherwise movement is okay.

We have only a kutcha road leading to the farm. In dry weather, tractors and bikes manage, but once the rains arrive, movement slows down badly. We have to plan every mandi trip carefully.

The road is so poor that in monsoons the farm is almost cut off. Even in normal times, transporters charge extra because of the bad road. Sometimes buyers don’t want to come here at all.

There is no proper road access. The farm is reached only by footpath, bullock-cart, or temporary tracks. In emergencies, it feels almost isolated.

The supply shops are right in the town next to my farm. Seeds, fertilizers, or medicines are just a 10–15 minute ride away. Even in an emergency, I get what I need quickly.

Input centers are within 5 km. It takes some time and fuel, but I can manage. For small needs I sometimes call the dealer, and they send it by tempo or courier.

Shops are about 10 km away. Going there means losing half a day. If I forget one item, I have to go again. Sometimes by the time I reach, stocks are already sold out.
