Electric Fencing

1. What is this item?

Electric fencing is a low-current, high-voltage perimeter fencing system that delivers a mild shock to deter trespassers (human or animal). It's made up of electrified wires mounted on insulated posts, connected to a power energizer unit. Often used as a primary or secondary security layer on farm boundaries or around sensitive zones like orchards, nurseries, or livestock enclosures.

2. How is the Quantity Estimated?

• Calculated in running meters of fencing required.

• Number of wire strands (usually 3–5) and post spacing (typically every 3–5 meters) define material quantities.

• Also consider the energizer capacity (depends on fence length) and solar backup if needed.

3. What are the Cost Components?

• Steel or concrete corner/end posts

• Intermediate posts with insulators

• High-tensile electrified wire

• Electric energizer (mains or solar-powered)

• Earth rod system

• Warning signage (as per rules)

• Optional: Solar panel, battery, and fencing controller box

• Labor for installation + testing

4. What are the Going Rates & Per Unit Cost?

• Material + turnkey installation:

o Basic electric fence: ₹150–₹250 per running meter

o With solar backup & full automation: ₹250–₹400/meter

• Energizer systems: ₹15,000–₹60,000 depending on length & power source

👉 Example: For 720 m fencing at ₹275/m =

720 × 275 = ₹1,98,000

(Plus ₹30k–₹50k for energizer setup depending on specs)

Electric fencing = smart deterrent + minimal upkeep.

Best suited for livestock farms, orchards, or wildlife buffers.
