1. What is this item?
These are the final delivery networks—the lateral pipes and emitters that bring water right to the plant root-zone or spray it over the field. Depending on crop needs and layout, you’ll choose:
• Drip lines (low-flow emitters for precise watering)
• Sprinkler laterals (overhead spray for lawns, vegetables)
• Rain guns / water guns (high-volume, long-reach sprinklers for orchard or field plots)
2. How is the Quantity Estimated?
• Drip: Length = (Row length × number of rows) + 5–10% extra for fittings
• Sprinkler: Number of heads = Field area ÷ (sprinkler coverage radius² × π)
• Rain Gun: One unit per 1–2 acres (adjust to overlap pattern)
• Pipe sizing: Based on flow rate per hectare (e.g., 2–4 L/hr emitters, 15–25 m³/hr rain gun)
3. Cost Components
• Pipes & Tubing: PE drip tubing, PVC/HDPE sprinkler mains
• Emitters & Sprinkler Heads: Drip emitters, micro-spray nozzles, pop-up heads
• Rain Guns & Mounts: Stand, nozzle, flow-control valve
• Fittings & Valves: Tees, elbows, pressure regulators, filters
• Pump or Pressure Booster (if needed)
• Installation Labor: Trenching for buried lines or overhead mounting
• System Testing & Commissioning
4. Going Rates & Per Unit Cost
• Drip Lateral: ₹30–₹50 per meter (incl. emitters)
• Sprinkler Main Line: ₹100–₹150 per meter (pipe + fittings + heads)
• Sprinkler Head: ₹800–₹1,200 each
• Rain Gun Kit: ₹18,000–₹30,000 per unit (incl. stand & valve)
• Installation: ₹20–₹40 per meter of buried pipe or ₹1,000–₹1,500 per head for mount & test
Example: For a 1 ha vegetable plot
• Drip: 1,200 m of lateral = 1,200×₹40 = ₹48,000
• Sprinkler section (if mixed): 20 heads×₹1,000 = ₹20,000
• Installation (pipe + heads): ~₹36,000
Total ≈ ₹1,04,000 (₹1.04 lakh)
