Voltage Stabilizers

1. What is this item?

A voltage stabilizer is an electrical device that automatically maintains a constant voltage level to protect farm equipment—like pumps, motors, and sensitive electronics—from voltage fluctuations (brown-outs, spikes, surges). By regulating input voltage to a safe range, it prevents damage and downtime.

2. How is the Quantity Estimated?

• Equipment Load Calculation: Sum the kVA ratings of all devices that need protection (e.g., 5 HP pump ≈ 3.7 kVA + lighting + control panels).

• Number of Units: Often one stabilizer per major load zone (pump house, main workshop, control room).

• Capacity Sizing: Choose a stabilizer with ~20 % headroom above the total calculated load.

3. What are the Cost Components?

• Stabilizer Unit (auto-transformer or servo technology)

• Enclosure & Mounting (metal cabinet, weatherproofing if outdoors)

• Control & Display Panel (volt-meter, bypass switch, indicators)

• Internal Protection (fuses, surge suppressors)

• Installation (wiring, earthing, testing)

4. What are the Going Rates & Per Unit Cost?

• Small Duty (1–5 kVA): ₹8,000–₹15,000 each

• Medium Duty (10–20 kVA): ₹20,000–₹35,000 each

• Heavy Duty (30–50 kVA): ₹40,000–₹60,000 each

• Installation & Commissioning: ₹2,000–₹5,000 per unit

Example: A 5 HP pump (≈3.7 kVA) + control panel (≈1 kVA) = 5 kVA total → select a 7 kVA stabilizer at ~₹12,000 + ₹3,000 installation = ₹15,000.
