1. What is this item?

A protective farming structure made using HDPE shade nets over a framed structure to filter sunlight, reduce heat stress, and provide partial shielding from pests, birds, and weather.

Used widely for nurseries, vegetables, hardening saplings, floriculture, and medicinal/aromatic plants.

2. How is the Quantity Estimated?

Depends on:

• Area under plant nursery or sensitive crops

• Stages of plant growth (e.g. seedling → transplant → maturing)

• Budget, labor, and irrigation plan

Common sizes:

• Small trial: 250–500 sq. m.

• Functional unit: 1000 sq. m.

• Scalable: in multiples of 1000

Site preference:

• Close to compost/vermi unit, potting area, and irrigation points

• On leveled land with light fencing

3. What are the Cost Components?

• GI pipe structure / bamboo frames

• Shade net rolls (30%, 50%, 75% or 90% UV protection)

• Anchor cables and fasteners

• Entry flaps or zipped doors

• Optional: misting lines / mini sprinklers / anti-insect nets

• Flooring: open soil or weed-control mat
