Nursery Shade Net

1. What is this item?

A specialized protective structure made using shade net fabric (usually green or white) to shelter young plants, saplings, and seedlings during their most sensitive growth phase.

It protects from direct sun, heavy rain, strong winds, birds, and some pests — giving new plants a calm, controlled micro-environment to thrive in.

Essential for:

• Vegetable seedling nurseries

• Fruit plant nurseries

• Flower saplings

• Exotic/ornamental plants

2. How is the Quantity Estimated?

• Based on number of seedlings you want to raise and spacing requirements.

• Rough sizing guide:

o Small nursery: 100–200 sq ft

o Medium nursery: 500–1000 sq ft

o Large commercial nursery: 2000+ sq ft

• Structure height: 8–10 feet is ideal for easy working inside.

📐 Estimate area = Length × Breadth of nursery needed.

3. What are the Cost Components?

• Shade Net Fabric (comes in different shading percentages: 35%, 50%, 75%, 90%)

• Supporting Framework (GI pipes, bamboo, or steel frames)

• Fasteners and ties for netting

• Foundation posts (simple RCC or stone pits sometimes for strong structures)

• Gates and access doors (basic GI or pipe frames)
