Time of Celebration and Rituals: Jveshtha purnima or amavasva day; having fasted for three previous days, married women worship the bargad tree by circumambulating, tying raksha sutra, listen to the sacred Savitri-Satvavan story; some women stay awake in the night, feed brahmin; women do this for five years after marriage.
